Fire safety
Operational fire protection plays a central role when it comes to the safety of employees, visitors and property in the company. Fire protection measures serve to prevent the outbreak of fire and to ensure the physical safety of all people on site in the event of an emergency.
In order to comply with its legal obligations, the company can appoint a fire safety officer to take over fire safety management.
This includes drawing up and updating fire safety regulations, helping to assess fire hazards at workplaces, advising on fire-hazardous work processes, equipping workplaces with fire extinguishing equipment and selecting fire extinguishing agents, as well as drawing up and updating escape and rescue route plans.
If the employer breaches his legal obligations to prevent fires and personal injury occurs as a result, there is a risk of high compensation claims, fines and, in the worst case, closure of the business.
